PremierBike runs into the UK with Storm The Castle duathlon sponsorship

Storm the Castle Duathlon - runners

US-based PremierBike, currently rolling out its new 1.0 Tactical tri superbike, has entered the UK with a sponsorship of the Storm The Castle duathlon, which returns for its third year on Sunday 23 April 2017. Storm The Castle is set in the English medieval town of Ludlow, Shropshire. The race route takes in some of Ludlow’s scenery and finishes in the grounds of Ludlow Castle itself, following a tough climb around the castle walls. The bike route runs through the notoriously hilly countryside of South Shropshire, before heading back to the town via the descent of High Vinnals and Whitcliffe.

“PremierBike is very proud to sponsor Storm The Castle – a premier sport event in the UK,” said Dan Kennison Founder and President of PremierBike. He and his wife Victoria will be on site in Ludlow on 23 April 2017 to cheer on the 300+ athletes participating in this year’s event. Dan continued, “We look forward to displaying our Tactical triathlon bike, hard travel case and optimized chains in Ludlow. Some of the best athletes in the sport hail from the UK and we are happy to be a part of this challenging event.”

PremierBike is based in Joliet, Illinois. The Tactical bike was launched at the end of 2016 ahead of the 2017 multisport season. The company states that it ‘focuses on optimizing triathlete, bike frame and component aerodynamics – at reasonable costs based on who knows best – those that participate in the sport.’

“Storm The Castle is the brainchild of three local Shropshire lads – as multisport athletes, we have raced all over the world over the past 15 years, taking part in triathlon, duathlon, marathons and cycle racing,” explained race organiser Matt Green.

“We are passionate about our sport and are equally as passionate about the area where we grew up. As athletes ourselves we have always appreciated what a challenging, but picturesque part of the world Shropshire is – we design our courses to share both the challenge and the scenery.”

Matt continued, “The Inaugural Storm The Castle took place in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength. With a reputation for putting athletes first, we have been recognised by 220 Magazine as one of the top multisport events in the UK; shortlisted in 2015 and 2106 for the best multisport event (under 500 athletes) in the UK.

“We are excited to be partnering with Dan Kennison and Premier bike, and to share Dan’s vision with UK athletes over the coming months.”
