This week (1-3 November 2018) welcomes the return of the Rouleur Classic, billed as ‘the world’s finest cycling exhibition’, at Victoria House in London. Tickets for the opening night of the Rouleur Classic have now sold out, with a limited number remaining for Friday and Saturday, when entry for kids is free.
The Rouleur Classic is positioned as a highlight of cycling’s social calendar – ‘an intimate gathering of elite cyclists and the visionaries behind the sport’s leading brands and technology’. During the course of exhibition, there will be 14 World Champions attending who have an incredible 23 rainbow jerseys between them.
On Friday, the exhibition will host a World Tour kit launch as Trek-Segafredo take to the stage to display its 2019 kit for both its men’s and women’s teams, with Lizzie Deignan and John Degenkolb wearing the team’s 2019 kit produced by show partners Santini.
Former World Champions and stars of the sport such as Eddy Merckx, Fabian Cancellara, Michael Rogers, Ivan Basso, Maurizio Fondriest, Freddy Maertens and Alice Barnes will all be on stage engaged in ‘candid and insightful conversation with the best presenters in the cycling business’ such as Ned Boulting, Orla Chennaoui, Matt Barbet and Jonathan Edwards.
Saturday sees double World Cyclo-Cross champion Mike Kluge on the stage as he previews the new season with Roger Hammond. Cycling UK’s Duncan Dollimore will be joined by Adam Blythe to discuss Britain’s cycling revolution. Mandy Jones, the British former racing cyclist who won the women’s World Road Race Championship in 1982 will be on stage to talk about her journey to becoming an accidental World Champion. Belgian legends Freddy Maertens and Roger De Vlaeminck will also be on stage in the theatre. Visitors of the show will also get a preview of the Yorkshire 2019 course from UCI president David Lappartient.
The exhibition will also display some of the best technology on display from the sport of cycling, including the CeramicSpeed Driven drive chain concept. ‘A unique collection of experiences and exhibits curated exclusively for the passionate and knowledgeable cycling audience will be on display’, including Michael Blann’s Swiss mountains exhibit. He has captured some of Switzerland’s most cycling-friendly ascents which will be on display across all three days.
There will be a collection of artefacts from the Horton Collection – historic jerseys, race posters and other ephemera from cycling’s past, while collector Mike Steadman is bringing a one-off collection of hundreds of derailleurs.
