Challenge Family has announced that, on June 13, 2020, Herning in Denmark will host the Open Nordic Championship in Middle Distance triathlon. The race’s sixth edition will consequently carry the name Garmin Challenge Herning Nordic Championship.
Over the past five years, in close collaboration with the City of Herning, sponsors, partners and athletes, the organising team notes that it has built a solid foundation that enables it to hold the Nordic Championships in Middle Distance triathlon.
A release from the organisers added, ‘We look forward to creating an amazing experience in the city of Herning, when we wrap the whole city in the colours of Garmin Challenge Herning and welcome the best athletes in the world to compete for the Nordic Championship trophy.’
Race Director Claus Vesterby said “We are honoured for the trust that Challenge Family and the city of Herning has placed in us. The city of Herning has always been supportive of the event, and we are privileged to have such a strong volunteer team from the local community. I am very proud of everything the team behind the event has achieved and there is no doubt that the team we are now has brought this event to a new level and I’m really excited about next year’s race.”
