8,000+ finishers for latest IRONMAN VR5 virtual event

Bringing the IRONMAN community together virtually, the IRONMAN Virtual Club now has more than 85,000 members on the platform – with thousands completing IRONMAN Virtual Club Challenges since its recent launch.

IRONMAN is offering up age group racing via a series of VR branded events – from the inaugural IRONMAN VR1 through to the latest event, IRONMAN VR5. The IRONMAN Virtual Club also features training workouts put together by leading coaches, as well as challenges from IRONMAN’s sponsor partners – helping to broaden the activities available for club members.

In tandem with racing and training sessions for athletes, the IRONMAN VR Pro Challenge brings pro athletes together – racing head-to-head, with commentary throughout each race.

IRONMAN VR5
In total, nearly 15,000 athletes from more than 123 nations and all 50 US states registered to participate in the latest IRONMAN VR5 virtual event. Over 8,000 athletes finished across the race weekend.

IRONMAN VR5 required athletes to complete a 5 km run, 90 km ride, and 21 km run between Friday, May 1 at 14:00 ET (18:00 GMT) and Sunday, May 3 at 19:59 ET (23:59 GMT). Competitors could complete the three segments in any order and were not required to do the segments consecutively.

IRONMAN virtual racing athletes are able to compete anywhere – Indoors or outdoors.
