Evans Cycles, the UK’s leading specialist bike retailer, has today announced a string of measures to help service the UK nation’s bikes and support the Government’s new Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme.
The UK Government initiative – set up by the Department for Transport – allows members of the public to claim a £50 voucher towards the cost of repairing a bike. It hopes to encourage more people to embrace cycling and boost the number of commuting and leisure trips made while social distancing measures are in place.
As one of the first organisations to sign up for the scheme, Evans Cycles has been restructuring its workshops in preparation. Growing its mechanic team by 32% since the start of the lockdown, four dedicated bike building hubs have been set-up to ease the burden on the in-store workshops around the country, as well as designing a new Road Ready Service designed specifically for use with the voucher redemption programme.
Operating 7 days a week across 52 stores, Evans Cycles argues that it is uniquely positioned to help customers from all over the country get back on their bikes. The British retailer is also announcing today that it is rolling out its new 24 Hour Servicing Pledge, committing to complete all mechanical services booked in advance within 24 hours (subject to availability of parts).
