The aptly titled podcast ‘How To Be Superhuman’ will make its return on Saturday 24th October with a special hour long live edition. Host Rob Pope is joined by real life super mum, Jenny Graham, to offer support to those competing in Red Bull Timelaps – the brand’s unique cycling event.
This year, competitors will race Red Bull Timelaps virtually, with the 25-hour challenge employing technology to overcome the challenges brought about by COVID-19.
Jenny Graham is an adrenaline junkie from Inverness who cycled her way into the record books back in 2018 when she became the fastest woman to cycle around the world. Spread across four continents, the epic journey took Jenny 124 days, 10 hours and 50 minutes to complete – in which time she battled the elements, exhaustion and even bears whilst cycling out in Alaska and Canada.
Rob Pope will be back in the hot seat as host; and will be hoping to offer inspiration to participants of the virtual Red Bull Timelaps who will be able to tune in whilst competing on their indoor bike trainers. For those unable to listen on the day, an audio version will be made available on the Sunday morning for participants to listen to on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.
Now in its fourth year, Red Bull Timelaps was previously held on a closed circuit at Windsor Great Park, near London. This year’s cycle event will take place as a Strava-based distance challenge – opening up the number of participants that can take part.
Whilst it may be going virtual, the challenge will aim to stay true to the original Red Bull Timelaps format – with teams of four being pit against the clock to see how far they can ride in 25 hours, either indoors or outside.
