Elite Cycling and the Toronto Hustle cycling team & community are running two challenges on behalf of #CRUSHCOVID; a Strava Challenge and a 24-hour indoor cycling marathon on Zwift.
Both challenges offer participants a chance to connect with fellow athletes and support mental health during the pandemic.
#CRUSHCOVID Strava Challenge
Open to participants in the US and Canada, the #CRUSHCOVID Strava challenge already has over 90K subscribers, with ‘plenty of room for more’. From midday EST on March 12 to 23:59 EST on March 13, Strava users can complete 4 hours of activity (cycling, running, walking etc) and upload it to their Strava account.
Upon completion of 4 hours of activity, users will get a badge and be entered into the draw to win a complete Elite training ecosystem including:
- Elite Suito-T home trainer
- Elite Training Mat
- Sterzo Smart steering plate
- Zugaman sweat towel
- 2 x Vico Carbon bottle cages
- 2 x Fly 550ml water bottles – with Toronto Hustle #CRUSHCOVID custom design
#CRUSHCOVID Zwift Challenge
The #CRUSHCOVID Zwift challenge is a 24-hour indoor cycling marathon that takes place from March 12th at 18:00 EST until March 13th at 18:00 EST.
In 2020 CRUSH COVID raised US$250,000 for the Michael Garron Hospital’s Emergency Response Fund, through a 24-hour Zwift marathon. The challenge drew support from across Canada and internationally.
In 2021, CRUSH COVID: Ride for Mind is highlighting the pandemic’s mental health impact. Funds will again support the Michael Garron Hospital, which provides care for at risk communities.
As part of the event, Toronto Hustle will be hosting a 24-hour livestream with interviews from the cycling community, health care workers and politicians.
Elite is supporting #CRUSHCOVID again this year by creating TEAM ELITE. Cyclists wishing to join TEAM ELITE and donate can sign up on the #CRUSHCOVID website. Elite will be giving away 500 FLY 550ml bottles with the #CRUSHCOVID custom logo to the first 500 TEAM ELITE participants anywhere in the world who donate at least US$100 dollars.
