Taking place in Chamonix, the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) is widely regarded as one of the most challenging foot races in the world. After being cancelled last year due to the global pandemic, UTMB is set to return in 2021. The event will span over the course of a week from Monday to Sunday, August 23-29, 2021.
The 18th edition of the race is set to see 10,000 runners representing 92 nationalities spread over the course of seve races. This year’s elite races are set to be very competitive, with over 170 elite athletes registered to compete.
HOKA One One has heralded its sponsored athletes taking part this year. These include those taking on the UTMB (170km 10 000m D+) event: France’s Audrey Tanguy who will be making her UTMB debut in the new Evo Speedgoat run shoe, and fellow French competitor and former 2016 UTMB winner Ludovic Pommeret also running in the Evo Speedgoat.
Jim Walmsley, Tim Freriks, Hayden Hawks, Anna Mae Flynn and Tim Tollefson will be among other sponsored athletes to compete.
Taking part in the CCC (101km 6100m D+), the second race to commence during the UTMB, is UK competitor Carla Molinaro who will be competing in the Evo Speedgoat and French competitor Thibaut Garrivier (who will also sport the Evo Speedgoat).
