Jan Ullrich, the former German pro cyclist and winner of Le Tour in 1997 and La Vuelta in 1999, has confirmed his participation in the next edition of the Mallorca 312.
The race is scheduled for October 24, 2021, in Platja de Muro, Mallorca, Spain.
Ullrich is expected to ride alongside Mavi García, who wears the honorary number 312 during this year’s race, as well as Alberto Contador, Oscar Freire, Joseba Beloki and Pedro Horrillo, among others. It should be noted that Ullrich and Beloki will meet again after sharing the podium during the Tour de France in 2000 and 2001.
Having confirmed he would get on board with the race, the German former pro stated that; “Cycling is good. I had forgotten all of this, and that was my problem.”
The Mallorca 312is sponsored by the Balearic Islands Tourism Agency and the Mallorca Tourism Foundation (Estrategia Turística de las Islas Baleares and la Fundació Mallorca Turisme).
The event is part of the Milestone Series. This features four cycle-sport events with routes in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
