IDOVEN, a European health-tech startup based in Madrid has raised €2 million in seed round funding alongside a €500,000 grant from the European Commission. This brings the company’s total funding up to more than €3 million.
The company claims that its artificial intelligence platform is ‘redefining the way cardiovascular diseases are diagnosed, thus reinventing the way we deal with the leading cause of death worldwide and the single largest cost driver in the global healthcare system.’
In 2020, IDOVEN partnered with European trail running race, Eurafrica. This saw the company monitor the activity of athletes’ hearts every day, while training, working or resting. It continues to expand its partnerships with races and sports event promoters around the world, with the goal of reducing sudden death among competitors.
“We have created a SaaS platform powered by artificial intelligence in order to diagnose heart conditions, that is embedded in the clinical workflows of cardiologists and physicians,” said cardiologist Manuel Marina Breysse, co-founder and CEO of IDOVEN.
“By delivering reliable and cost-effective expert-level diagnostics using deep learning algorithms, IDOVEN is transforming a traditionally manually processed industry, benefiting both patients and healthcare providers. Today, we are one step closer towards our vision that one day sudden cardiac death and cardiac disease will no longer exist.”
The funds raised will be used to fuel growth, accelerate the hiring of staff, and strengthen IDOVEN’s internationalization while continuing to develop its AI-based software technology and cloud platform.
