Sebastian Kienle is hep to solar energy sponsorship

In early 2019, pro triathlete Sebastian Kienle made a conscious decision favouring a ‘green sponsoring concept’ when he got on board with German solar tech specialist – hep.

In 2019, the Baden-Württemberg based solar company introduced the hep Sports Team. This initiative is continuing into 2021, with Kienle remaining on board (alongside other athletes) and with the pro triathlete investing in one of hep’s solar funds.

36-year-old Sebastian Kienle was the 2014 IRONMAN World Champion. He has also accumulated two titles as 70.3 IRONMAN World Champion and three European triathlon titles. Following the Covid-19 related mandatory break in racing, Kienle is once again striving for a high-ranking position at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawai’i.

Aiming for Kona, Kienle continues to be supported by the solar company hep, which has also signed pro triathletes Laura Philipp, Boris Stein, Imogen Simmonds, Maurice Clavel and Daniel Baekkegard to its hep Sports Team.

“It is important to us to show our athletes loyalty even in a difficult phase such as this one,” said hep founder Christian Hamann. “Triathlon is a matter close to our hearts and we look forward to athletic competitions soon becoming possible.”

Since 2008, hep has been developing, building and operating solar parks worldwide and is offering investors opportunities to invest with different terms and risk-return profiles.

In 2019, Kienle invested in the Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) for private investors and thus indirectly in 16 solar projects in Japan and in the US. In 2019 alone, hep’s own solar parks reportedly avoided over 25 kilotons of CO2 emissions, which would have been generated by fossil fuel power plants.

“A good investment is often defined by the risk-return ratio,” said Sebastian Kienle. “In my opinion, however, the most important category should be sustainability.

“After all, you do not just want to pass money on to your children, but at the same time you want to leave a world in which a life worth living is possible. For me, the HEP – Solar Portfolio 2 offers a good return with manageable risk.

“In contrast to Bitcoin, for example, whose trading consumes vast amounts of energy uselessly, investing in renewable energies contributes to satisfy our hunger for energy sustainably.”
