Taking place in St George, Utah, on Saturday, May 1, pro and age group athletes are gearing up for the 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship.
With a ‘large and talented field of professional athletes’ the event is seen as a potential preview of the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship also taking place in St George, this September.
The 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St. George offers a total professional prize purse of Us$100,000. The early-season race in southwest Utah provides scenery and challenging terrain in Sand Hollow Reservoir, Snow Canyon and the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve.
The Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St George will be broadcast exclusively on Facebook Watch via the IRONMAN Now Channel. The event will offer 250 qualifying slots to the 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission St George.
There will also be an additional 50 Women For Tri qualifying slots up for grabs for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
The IRONMAN Village Expo opens to athletes and the public on Thursday, April 28. Each individual that enters IRONMAN Village will be subject to a health questionnaire as well as a no-touch body temperature screening.
Individuals with a body temperature of greater than 100.4º Fahrenheit or 38º Celsius will not be allowed to enter. Individuals also must wear face coverings at all times.
The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will rotate back to the United States on September 17-18, 2021, when St George, Utah, plays host.
