Zwift, the online global fitness platform, is introducing the Zwift Running League for runners to join a team and race in a virtual running community.
Starting on April 16th and running for six weeks every Friday, the running league allows for those who run to get competitive on their treadmills and test their racing ability.
Organised by World Tactical Racing Leagues (WTRL), the Zwift Running League follows on from the success of the Zwift Racing League, now in its third season with over 1800 cycling teams, and the Duathlon League with 1600 people participating in its first season.
The running league is inclusive of all abilities and ages. Individuals race in teams and in pace group categories. The two formats are a Points Race and a Relay Race.
- The Points Race will be a cross country scoring format with four runners per team, and the top three runners score based on finish order.
- The Relay Race has three runners and one alternate/team manager where the fastest time wins.
