British elite ultra runner Jon Albon steps out with SIDAS socks

Britain’s Jon Albon has partnered with SIDAS socks as he aims for long-term success at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB).

According to the elite ultra runner, “the right running sock is often an overlooked piece of kit, that can make or break a race.”

Partnering with SIDAS is the next step forward in Albon’s mission to build a team of partners to support his goals. Having won the OCC (55km) at UTMB last year, Albon took part in the CCC event (101km) in 2022, targeting the full UTMB course (171km) in 2023.

Jon Albon is a member of the North Face team, with North Face on-board as his principal equipment, clothing and footwear partner. He will be using SIDAS socks and footcare products, alongside LEKI poles and the Higherpeak altitude system as he works towards his goals.

Albon said “Trail running is getting faster and more demanding at an elite level and in such a competitive environment the smallest details can make a big difference.

“Socks are a small but essential piece of kit to get right and SIDAS are the best, with decades of research and innovation behind them and a continual drive to improve.

“As I have started to run further, I realise looking after your feet is a bigger priority than many people would think, the rights socks can make all the difference to your comfort, enjoyment and the ultimate result.”

Axel Kowalczyk of SIDAS said ” Since its creation, SIDAS has drawn its force from four essential values: innovation, passion, performance and commitment.

“Jon for us, is an athlete who embodies all these attributes, and we are excited to add Jon to our strong team of athletes, that are helping us innovate and push our product forward so we can live up to ideas and offer our customers the best technology, for all foot types all the time.”
