Challenge Family is continuing to offer virtual racing on ROUVY, with a digital twin of the Challenge Sanremo race in Italy set for September 15th, one week before the real-world event.
The partnership between Challenge Family and ROUVY started at the beginning of 2022. There are now 20 Challenge Family virtual race courses spanning 13 countries on ROUVY’s platform.
The actual Sanremo race, on September 23, will start on the coast of the Italian Riviera and make a loop through the Ligurian countryside. Out of the 90 km bike leg, ROUVY has digitized a 25km segment from Taggia, with a long climb of 17km that leads to the Ghimbegna pass (1030m altitude), and which crosses Argallo, Zerni and Vignai.
Triathletes training at home and those set to participate at Challenge Sanremo can recon the bike course segments in the online race on ROUVY with Brazilian-Italian pro, Guilherme Muglia, aka ‘Gui’.
Pro triathlete and coach, Guilherme Muglia, is inviting fellow participants to race and is also challenging everyone to beat him on the virtual Challenge Sanremo bike segment.
‘Gui’ is a Brazilian-Italian dual citizen. Currently recovering from surgery and long Covid side effects, he’s soon set to return to the Challenge Family pro circuit. He lives and trains in Boulder, Colorado, and also runs the Sommet Coaching business which coaches athletes online in the US, Brazil and Europe.
Digital Challenge Sanremo events are open to athletes of all abilities; the only requisites are a smart trainer and a screen device.
