Hutchinson expands gravel range with launch of new Tundra tyre

Hutchinson Cycling has today launched the Tundra – a new gravel tyre designed to guide riders through the most challenging of drop bar rides.

‘The Tundra has been created in response to the increasing technicality in the discipline, with the boundaries of what constitutes ‘gravel’ riding becoming increasingly blurred. Designed for year-round riding the Tundra is at home on everything from muddy woodland trails to super technical rocky descents.’

Its gravel specific tread profile has been designed to give the rider a more secure feel through more technical routes. Using Hutchinson’s MTB expertise and drawing inspiration from its Black Mamba tyre, the team at Hutchinson has removed all but the most important tread blocks, leaving as much room as possible for mud clearance.

As a Hutchinson tyre the Tundra is tubeless ready. The tan wall version is reinforced with a layer of Hardskin textile grid that stretches from bead to bead to aid with puncture resistance. While the bi-compound rubber has a hard-wearing central tread.

The Tundra is available in both Tan Wall & Black versions. The 700×40 edition weighs in at 490g with the 700×45 sizes weighing 580g.

  • Tundra (Tan Wall) 700×40 & 700×45 MSRP £49.95 / €54.99
  • Tundra ( Black) 700×40 & 700×45 MSRP £39.95 / €44.99
