Lake to lake: Outlaw Half Woburn open for business in 2022

The newest Outlaw Triathlon Series event, Outlaw Half Woburn, is now open for entries. The event is scheduled to take place on 12 June 2022 in Bedfordshire, UK, at the expansive Woburn Abbey estate and welcomes a new headline charity partner, tri for life.

The event will cover a 1.2 mile lake swim, 58 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run in rural surroundings.

Outlaw Half Woburn has evolved from the Woburn Abbey Triathlon and features all new routes, including using both of the lakes on site with an ‘Aussie Exit’ run between the two. The single lap bike course should be relatively fast, and the multi-lap run keeps athletes close to Woburn Abbey and the spectators.

His Grace, the Duke of Bedford, who lives at Woburn Abbey said “I’m really pleased that Outlaw Half Woburn will bring athletes from across the country, or even further afield, to the estate to take part in the triathlon.”

“It’s wonderful that the event will help raise money for a range of charities and I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing the event develop over the next few years.”

Race director, Iain Hamilton said “We are privileged to have secured Woburn for the sixth and final UK event in the Outlaw Triathlon Series. Entries are already coming in, and we expect this to be a popular event, especially as May’s Outlaw Half Nottingham is already sold out.”

The Outlaw Triathlon Series was made up of five events in 2021 with nearly 8000 race starters. Outlaw Half Woburn makes the series up to six events, with overseas races being considered for the future.
