After Gustav Iden was recently confirmed as a new addition to the hep sports team pro athlete roster, the hep junior team is also receiving reinforcement.
Anabel Knoll, an Olympic participant from Tokyo, Katharina Möller and Ben Bettin will become part of the junior squad, which also includes Jannik Schaufler and Simon Henseleit.
Renewable energy specialist hep positions itself as ‘a partner for everything related to solar energy’. Since 2008, the company has developed, built, operated and financed solar parks worldwide.
It has also been involved with triathlon for a number of years, via its sports team as well as sponsorship of Challenge Roth in Germany since 2021, and the hep-sponsored Challenge Heilbronn.
The hep junior team has a primary objective to offer ‘sustainable support for young talents’.
Katharina Möller is a 21-year-old communications student. Her achievements include an eleventh-place finish at the Junior European Championships and the German runner-up title in 2019.
Anabel Knoll competed at the Olympic Games in Tokyo last year. After studying biology in the USA, she is specializing in biodiversity and ecology in her master’s degree.
Ben Bettin is from Berlin and at the age of 21 has already had his first successes in the First Triathlon Bundesliga. He is currently studying physics as a sports scholar at the University of Boulder, Colorado.
A release from hep noted… ‘If you want to reach the top of the world as an athlete, you need time, first-class equipment and a strong team. This is exactly what the hep junior team has been offering since 2019 – with success.
‘Anne Reischmann has proven that. She made the jump from the junior team to the professional selection of the hep sports team in 2020. The hep junior team currently competes in the short distance. The team’s declared goal is to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and in international ITU competitions.’
hep sports team manager Ronnie Schildknecht said “I see the special strength of the squad currently in the short distance with the goal of an Olympic qualification.
“In addition, Annabel, Ben and Katharina as individuals with their personal attitude are also something very special and an enrichment for the entire team. At this point we also say goodbye to Malte Plappert, Fabian Eisenlauer and Chris Trunk who will leave the hep junior team.”
