XTERRA Europe has confirmed that Zoggs is on-board as the exclusive Official Swim Category partner for the XTERRA European Tour. The tie-up for the 2022 season will also introduce a new initiative aimed at… ‘taking the small but necessary steps towards more sustainable events.’
The decision to extend and bolster the partnership between XTERRA Europe and Zoggs follows a 2021 season partnership. Going forwards, Zoggs will aim to elevate the race experience for all athletes through the provision of event equipment, swim caps, prizes, and social media content at all European Tour events for 2022.
‘2022 will also see the roll out of a new sustainability initiative as XTERRA continues to strive for a smaller carbon footprint. Beginning this year, elite athletes competing multiple times in the European Tour will be provided with only two custom swim caps to be used throughout the entire season.
‘An idea born from Arthur Forissier (Team Hexatri), a French elite currently ranked 16th in the overall XTERRA rankings, the concept is focused on reusing and reducing the number of caps distributed throughout the season.’
Commenting on the partnership, Konstantinos Koumargialis, Marketing Director of XTERRA Europe, said “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Zoggs, the leading brand for swimwear and swim equipment, for another consecutive year.
“The people behind Zoggs share the same passion and love for the outdoors and offer an incredible range of products, focusing on quality, fit, innovation and functionality. We share the same commitment to do everything we can to help the environment and achieve more sustainable practices.”
He added, “Our goal is to continue to expand the community of off-road enthusiasts and offer unforgettable challenges and experiences in some of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. This would not be possible without the support of our partners.
“We look forward to another incredible season with Zoggs as the Official Swim Partner for the XTERRA European Tour as well as the XTERRA World Championship, which will be hosted in Molveno, Italy, and is the first time the event will be held outside of Hawaii since it began in 1996.”
Speaking on sustainability and the recent announcement of a new World Championship location, Mark Hammersley, VP of the Head Swimming Division (the company behind Zoggs), SAID “We are delighted to be extending the partnership between Zoggs and XTERRA, and to enter our second year as a sponsor of the European Tour.
“Our commitment to sustainability and outdoor swimming is reflected in each of the XTERRA events across Europe and we are particularly excited that in 2022 the annual XTERRA World Championship event will be in Europe, around the peaks and lakes of Trentino in Italy.
“At Zoggs we are again looking forward to helping the XTERRA team create great events in superb environments; and at the same time, we continue to increase our commitment to outdoor swimming. This partnership with XTERRA is an example of that increased commitment moving forward.”
