Challenge Sanremo returns to the Italian Riviera on Sunday, September 24, bringing together a strong contingent of professional athletes, as well as amateur age groupers.
The first day of racing on Saturday, September 23, sees the turn of young triathletes along with a Swimrun race.
On September 24, at 08:00 CET the middle distance Challenge Sanremo start gun will go off (1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21km run) followed at 09:00 by the sprint distance athletes. The race action will be broadcast via a free livestream at challenge-family.live with English commentary by Belinda Granger along with live updates and timing.
Participating athletes and spectators can enjoy two days dedicated to multisport, but also music, with a symphony orchestra present. This will perform during the race and at the awards ceremonies.

With over 40 professional athletes on the start line, the spotlight is on Bart Aernouts (BEL). He will be up against the likes of Frenchmen William Mennesson and Simon Viain, and the Australian Caleb Noble. Also noteworthy are Jon Breivolt (NOR), Youri Keulen (NED), Jonathan Wayaffe (BEL) and Marcel Bolbat (GER).
Among the elite women, competition will be among Italian Giorgia Priarone, British athlete Jodie Stimpson, and South African Magda Nieuwoudt. Other athletes in the mix include: Justine Guerard (FRA), Sarah Schoenfelder (GER), Lisa Maria Dornauer (AUT), Gabriele Maria Obmann (AUT), Megan McDonald (GBR), Charlene Clavel (FRA) and Lilli Gelmini (ITA).
