Spanish performance bicycle brand Berria has founded its first professional mountain bike team – Berria Vittoria Factory Team – which made its debut at the UCI Cross-country World Cup at Nové Město in the Czech Republic.
Léna Gérault (Elite Women XCC and XCO), Jana Czeczinkarová (Elite Women XCO), Lucie Urruty (Elite Women XCO) and Sean Fincham (Elite Men XCO) are action for the team, which officially launched at the start of the 2023 season.
The squad has already achieved some impressive results, with Gérault taking second place at the French Cup earlier this month and Czeczinkarová claiming the team’s first-ever win at the Czech Cup in April.
The squad will once again be riding Berria’s flagship cross country mountain bike – the Mako BR LTD – in custom team colors.
Berria Marketing Director Gustavo Jaimes Lopez said “This represents a huge milestone for everyone at Berria and we could not be prouder, or more excited, to see the Berria Vittoria Factory Team competing at the very highest level of the sport at Nové Město.
“It’s been amazing to watch the team gel over the last few months, and their fun yet über dedicated and professional outlook represents everything that Berria is about. We wish them the very best of luck and can’t wait to see the Mako BR LTD being put through its paces at this iconic location.”
Berria Vittoria Team Manager Jérôme Dericbourg said “Everything we’ve done since the launch of the team in February has been leading up to this moment and we cannot wait to see the Berria Vittoria Factory Team racing on the grandest stage in the sport.
“The riders are super motivated and we know that the Mako BR LTD will be able to handle anything Nové Město can throw at it.”
