Building on an existing four-year history with the Swiss Racing Academy team, BMC has announced its support of Tudor Pro Cycling for an ‘industry first, additional six years’.
The team, which joined the professional cycling world this year, is the unification of two BMC partners. It aims to develop the most successful Swiss cycling team ever. Heading into 2024, Tudor will be racing on a new platform of BMC bikes, developed in close collaboration with the team.
Coupled with the support of the Swiss watch brand Tudor, and with former world and Olympic champion Fabian Cancellara’s involvement and guidance since 2021, BMC notes that the future of the team is bright.
BMC began its relationship with the team since its inception, helping provide a pathway for young talent to progress to the top level of the sport. The Swiss development team that paved the way for the likes of Stefan Bissegger and Mauro Schmid to become top WorldTour professionals continues to produce talented racers.
With Swiss riders Yannis Voisard and Joel Suter leading the charge for the professional team, wins from the likes of Dane Alexander Kamp and Dutchman Arvid de Kleijn this season provided inspiration to the upcoming talent on the 13-man roster of the under-23 squad.
David Zurcher, CEO at BMC Group, said “We’re excited to continue on this journey with Tudor Pro Cycling and feel confident about what can be achieved together in the next six years.
“The team is going from strength to strength and with the big name additions to the 2024 roster, combined with new bikes, we’re ready to push the boundaries of what’s possible.”
Fabian Cancellara, Team Owner at Tudor Pro Cycling, said “It has been a big step up for our team this season and the guys have delivered on every front.
“Our relationship with BMC has been – and continues to be – a key component of our growth and development. The geographical proximity of the two head offices means that the relationship goes beyond the traditional one between sponsor and team.
“We work and develop together, every day. At Tudor Pro Cycling we strive for excellence in every aspect. And BMC deliver.”
Raphael Meyer, Tudor Pro Cycling CEO, added “We want to work with the best at Tudor Pro Cycling and with BMC we have exactly that – the finest bikes any professional team could wish for. We look forward to a successful future with our Swiss focussed supporters and partners.”
