Taking place in three cities across Poland – Gdynia, Warsaw & Piaseczno – the Indoor Triathlon Series is positioned as an opportunity for newcomers to try their hand at triathlon.
Organised by Sport Evolution, the team behind IRONMAN in Poland, the three indoor events run from January to March 2024:
- Gdynia – January 21, 2024
- Warsaw – February 18, 2024
- Piaseczno – March 10, 2024
A release from Sport Evolution noted… ‘You swim 600m in the pool under the supervision of lifeguards. Then a short run to the sports hall, all the time under the roof. There’s 15km of stationary bike riding and a short, 3km run on a treadmill.
‘Finally, the last few metres and you cross the finish line, where you will receive a commemorative medal, something to drink and, above all, the satisfaction of well-spent, active time.’
According to the organizing team… ‘Indoor triathlon is an ideal proposition not only for advanced triathletes who want to test their fitness in the winter, but above all for those who have never faced a similar challenge, combining swimming, riding cycling and running.’
Sport Evolution’s Piotr Jakóbik said “For many people, swimming in open water – a lake, river or sea – becomes a barrier to taking part in a real triathlon. The Indoor Triathlon Series eliminates this problem because everything takes place in one place, under a roof, and we swim in 25m pools.
“I am a good example of this myself – despite not having sufficient water skills to stand at the start of an IRONMAN series competition, I completed the last edition of the Indoor Triathlon Piaseczno without any major problems.
“Due to the capacity of the swimming pool, the number of places available for each of the three editions of the competition is limited. Online registration has just started, and those who sign up early will benefit from the lowest entry fee.”
