London Landmarks Half Marathon and njuko in 3-year charity sector registration tie-up

Endurance sports registration firm, njuko, has signed a partnership with the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) and its associated events, including the new Skyscraper Challenge. The tie-up aims to provide an optimised registration and fundraising solution to support the charity fundraising sector.

njuko handles over 3 million registrations a year globally, across 34 currencies, 23 payment gateways and over 17 languages. Following its acquisition by ASICS in 2022, the registration firm has recently integrated with ASICS apps to further continue its growth and platform development.

A focus of the partnership with LLHM is to… ‘Transform and improve the way the UK charity market interact and manage their places with LLHM using a fully white label, API centric charity management application. This is designed to work across multiple events and seamlessly push and pull data with LLHM’s fundraising platform, JustGiving.’

In addition a new donation feature has been built. This seeks to drive up-take in donations and will roll out later in 2023 in support of Tommy’s charity, which partners with LLHM.

James Greenslade from njuko said “We spent the first year working with LLHM a little in the shadows, launching the 2023 ballot and operating a discovery phase to find out the areas we could innovate the most to help add as much value as possible to their events.

“The ideas the LLHM team have are so beneficial to not only us, but the wider running market; and we look forward to helping drive positive change alongside their fast-growing races.

“We are also pleased to offer the most customisable JustGiving functionality to support Tommy’s as well as the hundreds of other charities that benefit from their events.”

Greenslade continued “From a technical side, LLHM has pushed us in new directions which directly influence and improve the product for all our organisers. Many features we developed for the market are used comprehensively on this event and have given us solid indications on where the market is heading.”

The annual London Landmarks Half Marathon, organised by baby charity Tommy’s to benefit itself and over 500 charities, is a 13.1 mile course around London’s landmarks. Themed ‘the grand, the quirky and the hidden’, the LLHM showcases landmarks such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Shard and the Tower of London, as well as some of the hidden highlights of the city such as the Bow Bells and Roman Baths.

LLHM 2023 participants, many running to support causes close to their hearts, raised £10.9m, bringing the overall total raised for charity since the inaugural event in 2018 to £37m.

Katie Jones, Head of Event Partnerships and Communications at LLHM, said “The LLHM is such a special and unique event, and we are delighted to be a 100% not-for-profit event that benefits over 500 charities every year.

“We are always wanting to provide the best experience for our charity partners when applying and registering their runners, and therefore we love the customisation and innovation that the njuko platform provides us with.

“The partnership with njuko is very valuable to us, and we look forward to working with them again for the LLHM 2024 to make the runner journey even more smooth and enjoyable.”

The 2024 LLHM will take place on Sunday April 7th, 2024.
