With the MyWhoosh US$1m Race Championship around the corner (April 28, 2023 to May 5, 2023), virtual cycling platform MyWhoosh has unveiled the extension of its Australia and Colombia worlds, adding nine new routes.
MyWhoosh is a free-to-use virtual cycling platform. The extension of its Australia and Colombia worlds is launching in-app this week for signed-up users (available on iOS, Android and Windows).
The expanded routes offer new locations for riders to explore, taking the total length of the platform’s virtual roads to 983 km.
In addition to the new routes, MyWhoosh has also added new in-game features – voice chat and emotes – for greater user interaction. Voice chat now allows MyWhoosh riders to communicate vocally to other riders. Emotes are ‘cosmetic symbols of emotion’, where riders can react to an event or moment whilst riding virtually.
Both new features have been designed to reflect a desire for communication and self-expression within the MyWhoosh community and will be available for riders to use during the Race Championship, which is now open for registrations.
Australia World
Joining the already integrated Tour of Wollongong, four new Australian routes will be added to the MyWhoosh map, taking riders through six regions: Sydney, Cambewarra, Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Uluru.
Covering over 80km of new virtual roads and nearly 1,000m of virtual elevation, those looking for a challenge will be able to take on the newly added Cambewarra Mountain climb.

- Aus Outer Loop: distance: 37.5 km // elevation (peak point): 401m // cumulative elevation: 598m // max grade: 12.8% // min grade: -11.9%
Colombia World
Already a staple on the MyWhoosh platform, the Colombia world is gaining five new routes and expanding three.
- Outer Loop: Coffee Trail: total distance = 27.9 km // peak elevation = 0m // cumulative elevation = 98m // max grade = 6.3% // min grade = -6.9%
- Amazonia: total distance = 8.6 km // peak elevation = 10m // cumulative elevation = 58m // max grade = 6.6% // min grade = -6.6%
