Ahead of Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes this summer, MyWhoosh is launching 10 new workouts that give a taster of how pro riders prepare for Le Tour.
The free-to-use virtual cycling platform has teamed up with UAE Team Emirates and UAE Team ADQ to create 10 unique workouts based on the specific skills of the teams’ professional riders.
Each workout will aim to replicate the training programs that pros undertake ahead of a major stage race like The our de France. From the end of June and throughout July, MyWhoosh adds that its users can… ‘learn how to sprint like Pascal Ackermann, climb like Erica Magnaldi, and taper like Alena Amialiusik.’
While this series has been designed for training purposes, MyWhoosh is also adding a competitive element to the Tour de France workouts. Any rider who completes all five UAE Team Emirates workouts before July 23rd will enter a raffle to win a jersey signed by Tadej Pogacar.
Similarly, any rider who completes all five UAE Team ADQ workouts before July 30th will enter a raffle to win a jersey signed by Marta Bastianelli.
Pascal Ackermann, UAE Team Emirates cyclist, said “Sprinting is where I really gain my edge over the competition. However, what people might not realize is that the build-up to the sprint is just as important.
“The final hour of racing demands a carefully managed speed increase so I can power through the last kilometre, and that is a skill only learned through training. After months of preparation both indoors and on the road, I feel ready to take on the challenge.
“MyWhoosh has created a dynamic workout which focuses on ramping up intervals to a climactic finish – very similar to one the sprinters will do at the Tour de France.”
Erica Magnaldi, UAE Team ADQ cyclist, said “The Tour de France is one of the most challenging events of our Grand Tour calendar, and definitely the most watched.
“The more I train before an event, the more confident I feel going in – so consistent indoor and outdoor workouts are absolutely essential. Now, thanks to MyWhoosh, everyone can experience the thrill of preparing for the greatest cycling race in the world.”
The Tour de France workouts will be available on MyWhoosh at the end of June and throughout July.
