DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep, ‘the biggest long-distance triathlon in the world’ has partnered with indoor cycling platform, ROUVY. Through the partnership, athletes all over the world can train on their home indoor trainer on a virtual Roth bike course.
Triathlon fans will also benefit from regular virtual events, as well as group rides and can chase their own course records at any time. Newcomers to the popular race in Germany can get to know Roth in advance through virtual course recces via the ROUVY.
This year’s real-world DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep event is set for June 25, 2023.
Through ROUVY’s wider partnership with Challenge Family, a recording of the course has been on the platform since 2022. This year, the DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep bike course will be re-filmed by ROUVY experts in Omnimode. According to ROUVY, this will create a completely new digital experience for users. Through a 360-degree view, users can digitally explore the landscape or watch fellow cyclists.
Challenge Roth Race Director Felix Walchshöfer said “The partnership with ROUVY is a huge benefit for all our athletes who are involved with the race year-round. Thanks to ROUVY, athletes now have additional options: everyone can now perfectly prepare for our bike course from home, whether it’s a virtual ride from Greding to Solarer Berg or even the full 180 km.”
Petr Samek, CEO of ROUVY, added “This partnership with such an important sport event as Challenge Roth makes a lot of sense for ROUVY. Triathletes form an important part of our community and we have no doubt that this is one of the best ways to make their training experience even better.”
To celebrate the beginning of the cooperation, a joint group ride on the Challenge Roth virtual bike course will take place on March 23, at 19.30 CET. On 40 kilometres from the ‘hill of pain’ in Greding to Solar Hill, athletes can virtually test the course together with others on the virtual group ride.
Triathletes can also look forward to another highlight under the new partnership. ROUVY is giving away two starting slots for the sold out DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep 2023 event.
The routes on ROUVY consist of filmed footage. This is linked by 3D avatars that can be individualised according to an athlete’s preference. As a special highlight, the new partnership between the event organiser and virtual cycling platform has a new Challenge Roth jersey for athletes to use whilst on ROUVY.
