Challenge Family’s World Bonus provides professional triathletes with an opportunity to race for a share of a US$100,000 end-of-season bonus. This is on top of the prize purses at individual races at the international series.
Points are available at selected Challenge Family events and started with Challenge Israman in January and will end with Challenge Florianopolis in Brazil on November 24, 2024.
The bonus pays five deep across both elite men and women with the top ranked pros taking home US$22K, second earns US$14K with third winning US$8K, fourth US$4K, and fifth US$2K.
There are still two more points races in 2024, Challenge Canberra and Challenge Florianopolis, but these will not affect the top rankings, as the top placings were decided at Challenge Xiamen in southeast China on November 10, 2024.
After a day’s racing at Challenge Xiamen, in terms of the Challenge Family World Bonus, Jack Moody (NZL) and Alanis Siffert (SUI) are now confirmed as unbeatable for 2024.
To retain his top spot, World Bonus leader, Jack Moody, needed to finish in a minimum of fifth place. Ognjen Stojanović secured his first Challenge Family win in Xiamen and so maintained his second place in the World Bonus. Moody’s podium ensured his World Bonus top spot was secure.
The women’s placings were clearer cut. Alanis Siffert’s dominating win in Xiamen meant her final World Bonus placing at the top of the leader board was never under threat.
