As the official bike partner of DATEV Challenge Roth, Canyon has launched the ‘Speedmax CF SLX Road to Roth’ – a limited-edition bike with artwork inspired by the event in southern Germany. As part of a limited-edition production run, Canyon is guaranteeing entry slots at one of the most sought-after races in triathlon.
At a race like Challenge Roth, where last year entry spots sold out in just 43 seconds, Canyon notes that… ‘Even getting to the start line is an achievement. That’s why, fresh off extending an official bike partnership with Challenge Roth by a further three years, we wanted to open up the once-in-a-lifetime experience of racing the Challenge to more triathletes who choose the Speedmax.’
By purchasing a Speedmax CF SLX Road to Roth bike, triathletes can guarantee participation in the Challenge Roth event. Each frame includes a special QR code that enables a single-time event entry to any Challenge Roth event between 2025-2029.
Despite the 2025 edition of the event being fully sold out, Canyon is enabling access for its customers via a special registration page, and added… ‘Although entrants still need to pay their registration fee, an entry slot like this is one of the only ways to get a place on the start line.’

The Speedmax CF SLX Road to Roth bike’s artwork takes its cue from the lighting display in Roth, using ‘Colorshift’ pigments that shift hues under sunlight to mirror the lasers and fireworks that ignite the skies over Roth every July.
Aesthetics are important, but at the end of the day, Canyon notes that the Speedmax CF SLX Road to Roth features are tailor-made for the long-distance triathlon. The adjustable cockpit comes with a fitting kit that lets athletes dial in a comfortable, natural aero position with no specialist tools required.
The integrated hydration system helps keep athletes hydrated over Roth’s 180km bike split, without any need to remove their hands from the bars. Meanwhile, the Bento Box and BB Toolbox offer instant access to tools and nutrition, and a 2×12 Ultegra Di2 electronic groupset from Shimano with a 4iiii Precision Slim powermeter provides precision shifting efficiency and power measurement.
The bike is equipped with a DT Swiss ARC 1100 Dicut db 80mm front wheel and ARC rear disc wheel.
The Speedmax CF SLX Road to Roth became available for €10,000 exclusively from November 21, 2024 through canyon.com or through the Canyon App where users can also find bike service information, compatible spare parts, and exploded drawings of the bike. The bike is available in a limited-edition run of 100 models.
