Returning to the recent past with a special classification, the Intergiro, which aims to enliven the Giro d’Italia in intermediate stages, will be included in the Grand Tour race for the sixth consecutive time.
Sponsored by insurance company, Sara Assicurazioni, the Intergiro (one per stage, excluding time trial stages) will award the top three finishers with 3″ – 2″ – 1″ bonuses for the individual general classification. In addition, the top eight finishers will receive 12 – 8 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 points valid for the general points classification.
By awarding points, a final daily and overall ‘Intergiro’ ranking will be drawn up.
The 107th Giro d’Italia runs from May 4-26, 2024, with Regione Piemonte hosting the Grande Partenza (Grand Départ) of the Giro d’Italia for the fourth time.
Sara Assicurazioni will also be present at the Giro-E (May 4-26, 2024) with an official team composed of agents, employees and customers. This year, the roster of participants will also include Alessandro Ossola, Paralympic athlete and president of the Bionic People Association, as well as Sara’s ambassador for D&I issues.
Sara Assicurazioni support for BiciScuola – the educational project aimed at primary school students in the provinces touched by the Giro d’Italia to promote the values of sport, environmental and road education – has also been confirmed.
