Approximately 80 pro triathletes are slated to take part in the first European destination for the new IRONMAN Pro Series, in Alcúdia-Mallorca, Spain, on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
With two IRONMAN Pro Series races already in the books, and the Intermountain Health IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St George triathlon occurring this weekend, professional triathletes are looking to accrue early season points and event prize money in both the USA and Europe.
Taking place on the Balearic Island of Mallorca, Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca will be available to watch for free across multiple platforms for viewers around the world including proseries.ironman.com, Outside TV, DAZN and L’Equipe in France, among others.
The deep professional field will see the return of 2022 IRONMAN World Champion, Gustav Iden (NOR), as he makes his IM Pro Series debut. Iden will be challenged by Jan Stratmann (DEU), Patrick Lange (DEU), and Paul Schuster (DEU).
Also in the elite male field will be Mathis Margirier (FRA), Youri Keulen (NED), Cameron Wurf (AUS), Gregory Barnaby (ITA), Arnaud Guilloux (FRA) and Bradley Weiss (ZAF).
In the women’s field, Emma Pallant-Browne, who is currently ranked 18th in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings, with a total of 1846 points, will be wearing bib number one. Looking to chase down Pallant-Browne will be Laura Philipp (DEU), Giorgia Priorone (ITA), Ruth Astle (GBR) and Lizzie Rayner (GBR).
Racing alongside the professional triathletes will be around 3,800 age-groupers, who will be battling it out to earn age group qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship on December 14-15 in Taupō, New Zealand.
In addition to this, the Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca also offers 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, Nice, France, slots to the top 5 placed women in each age group category.
