Italian bike brand Officine Mattio has signed a partnership agreement with UCI Women’s Continental team BePink.
Marking the first time it has ever supported a UCI circuit team, the Cuneo-based company will be providing team riders with its top-range bike, the Lemma RT, for training sessions and races.
“We are excited to join the BePink project,” said Giovanni Monge Roffarello, CEO of Officine Mattio. “We immediately had a connection with [team manager] Walter Zini, as we both want to do something great in what has always been his world: women’s cycling. We at Officine Mattio love challenges and look forward to getting started.”
Each BePink rider will be supplied with two identical Lemma RT bikes, one to train with and the other for competitions.
The Lemma RT has a wrapped frame in T1100 carbon fibre. The name Lemma comes from the Alpine climb near Officine Mattio’s premises, on which the founder, Giovanni Monge Roffarello, tested the bike brand’s first prototype.
The team’s Lemma RT bikes will be assembled with top-range components, including: SRAM Red AXS 12v groupset with power meter; stem, handlebar and wheels from Deda Elementi, Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tyres, Repente saddle, carbon pedals from LOOK and Officine Mattio bottle cage.
“We are excited to start this new adventure with Officine Mattio,” said BePink’s Team Manager Walter Zini. “BePink too, like Officine Mattio, is the result of wanting to create a project that could be a strong player in our wonderful sport and we believe that, also thanks to their support, we can further improve. We will soon be competing again and are anxious to once again put a number on our back.”
