The 2024 BMW HERO Südtirol Dolomites event in Italy, on June 15, 2024, is getting a profile boost from the presence of elite cyclist Peter Sagan.
The Slovakian professional cyclist and three time UCI road cycling champion competed in the first edition of the 2024 HERO Abu Dhabi in February. Turning his attention to off-road competitions, he now races for Specialized Factory Racing.
He will race at the 2024 BMW HERO Südtirol Dolomites on the 60-km course. The race will start and finish in Selva Val Gardena in the South Tyrol region, northern Italy. Sagan will also be taking part in some of the events of the HERO Bike Festival, including the HERO Charity Night kick-off event.

Gerhard Vanzi, CEO of HERO Dolomites, said “We’re honoured to have legendary Peter Sagan join us – after all, he’s shaped cycling history. I’m convinced all participating cyclists will be inspired by him taking part.”
Sagan originally debuted as a young mountain biker. More recently, in 2015-17, he was the UCI Road World Champion for three years in a row. He’s decided to test his mettle by competing in the ‘toughest mountain bike marathon in the world’. The HERO Südtirol Dolomites has built a reputation thanks to its courses on the Sella massif in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
