Release of Canada Man/Woman XTRI movie

This year, Canada Man/Woman XTRI and Solo Point Five Canada take place on October 6, 2024, in Lac-Mégantic, Québec, Canada. 2024 marks the seventh edition of the full distance Canada Man/Woman challenge, with Solo Point Five Canada available as a half-distance event.

To showcase this year’s event, a new film has been produced that delves into the athlete experience and the scenic backdrop of the Lac-Mégantic area in Québec. The 28-minute movie also recognises the challenges faced by the Lac-Mégantic community following the rail disaster that occurred in the town on July 6, 2013, which tragically killed 47 people.

Part of the XTRI World Tour, Canada Man/Woman XTRI is positioned as an extreme triathlon alongside its partner event – Norseman in Norway – and has been named a ‘#1 race to do in Canada’ by Triathlon Magazine Canada.

Solo Point Five Canada features 2km of swimming, 90km of cycling and 20km of running. Although on a shorter course than its full distance counterpart, the Canada Man/Woman XTRI team notes that the half distance event comparable to Canada Man/Woman in its beauty and intensity.

The full distance CAXTRI event features over 4,000m of elevation gain, while the half distance Solo Point Five has 2,400m.
