The Amazfit T-Rex 3 from Zepp Health has been unveiled as the first smartwatch model that can track all nine disciplines in HYROX fitness competitions.
The T-Rex 3 is currently on early Black Friday sale for £249.90 – 10% off its RRP of £279. The offer and product launch have been timed ahead of the sold out HYROX London race, which runs from November 29th to December 1st, 2024.
Zepp Health has also released the HYROX training mode on other best-selling models, including its T-Rex Ultra, Amazfit Falcon, and Amazfit Cheetah Pro. The functionality will also shortly be updated onto the Cheetah Round and Cheetah Square smartwatches.
Developed in collaboration with HYROX, the smartwatch tracks all the exercises in the order in which the competition takes place. The new HYROX race mode can monitor single, double and team relay starts and can be personalised to observe the duration of individual exercises, heart rate and calorie expenditure.
Another key feature of the smartwatch is its ability to generate alerts when an athlete goes outside the safe heart rate zone or burns a certain amount of calories.
The Amazfit T-Rex 3, and other updated Amazfit editions, offer dozens of sports modes, including outdoor running, treadmill running (including intervals), rowing, fitness, core training, cross training or HIIT.
The HYROX mode will also ensure that updated Amazfit watches monitor strength training, including the level of muscle engagement during selected exercises.
Amazfit devices also monitor parameters such as sleep quality, including the time and hours of deep sleep, physical and mental fatigue (Readiness Score feature), sleep HRV, resting HR and electrodermal changes. This post-training data allows athletes to understand their bodies and plan their next workouts accordingly.
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 works on a single charge for up to 27 days. The large 1.5” AMOLED display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass, which minimises the risk of scratches. The structure, case and buttons are reinforced with stainless steel, making it resilient to the high-intensity nature of Hyrox activities.
