Apparel brand Santini Cycling and fabric specialist Polartec have presented MAGIC, a new rain jacket made with Polartec Power Shield RPM fabric.
MAGIC is claimed to be a unique waterproof jacket, featuring a highly breathable monolithic membrane and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment. The 100% recycled polyester Polartec Power Shield RPM fabric is waterproof, non-PFAS, lightweight, and stretchable.
The recycled two-layer polyester fabric claims to offer best-in-class waterproofness and breathability. Santini adds that the 100% recycled polyester membrane is designed for high intensity activities.
Polartec Power Shield RPM features a durable non-PFAS coating to repel precipitation, combined with breathability. It also claims to reduce overheating by up to 50% compared to other Polartec membranes.
The fabric’s stretch properties also provide a full range of motion, while the use of sustainably sourced recycled polyester helps to reduce the product’s carbon footprint.
Thermo-sealed and wear resistant, the Santini MAGIC jacket features an extended back panel. It’s also light (size M, 155g) and can be stowed when riding.
The MAGIC jacket has a double front zipper that opens from both the bottom and the top, a high collar for protection from wind and rain, and a reflective Santini logo on the back helping with visibility and safety during darker hours.
With an RRP of £190, the MAGIC jacket will be available in black in all Santini stores and exclusively at the VIA store in London, as well as online at santinicycling.com. It will then be released in additional colour variants and in a sleeveless version in the spring/summer 2025 collection.
