Smartwatch specialist COROS has released an update that allows its users to view Strava Live Segments directly from their COROS device.
COROS notes that Live Segments on Strava is a way for athletes to compete with their own previous times on specific segments to see how they’ve improved, or to compete with other athletes to see who can achieve the best overall time on their favourite road, trail, and more.
“In creating the Strava Live Segment experience on COROS devices, we wanted to make it as simple to use as possible for COROS users,” said Darian Allberry, Head of User Engagement at COROS.
“Menus for adding or choosing new segments are presented front and centre both in the COROS app and your activity start screen. Adding Live Segments to our devices gives COROS users even more ways to train, and adds a fun, competitive element to runs and rides
Using Strava Live Segments on COROS devices:
- Time Ahead/Behind: See progress compared to target
- Current Pace or Speed: Stay on track to hit goals
- Distance Remaining: Know how far to push to the finish
- Competitor Progress: Visualized on an intuitive, dynamic map
Choose a rival:
- KOM/QOM: the fastest overall record on the segment
- PR: personal record
- Carrot: the next fastest time of users being followed on Strava
- Wolf: the closest time behind the PR of users being followed on Strava
During activities, COROS users wil be automatically prompted when approaching a new segment, and receive real-time feedback about how they are performing on the segment.
Strava Live Segments is now in Public Beta for COROS users on iOS and Android.
