The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced a new partnership with deboer, which will become the Official Wetsuit & Performance and Training Swimwear Partner of the T100 Triathlon World Tour for the next three years.
This is the third major partnership confirmed by PTO in recent weeks – following Maurten and Garmin – off the back of the announcement that it has rebranded the PTO Tour as the T100 Triathlon World Tour and expanded it from three to eight races.
The newly rebranded series features 40 of the world’s leading triathletes – 20 women and 20 men. The line-up includes deboer sponsored athletes: Emma Pallant-Browne, Ben Kanute, Daniel Baekkegard, Chelsea Sodaro, Rico Bogen, Skye Moench, Bradley Weiss, and Amelia Watkinson.
In recent years, deboer has worked with Santara Tech, the Norwegian sports tech incubator, to create the X-Skin for its FJORD 3.0 wetsuit, which claims to minimize drag. The partnership with PTO will begin at the first T100 Triathlon World Tour race of 2024 – the Miami T100. This is hosted at the CLASH Endurance Miami weekend taking place at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida, on March 9-10, 2024.
The partnership activation with deboer will include: swim cap branding for professionals and age groupers; social media content; competitions for the T100 age grouper community; and on-site activations.
Jordan Bryden, Global Marketing Director at deboer, said “Over the past few years, the sport of triathlon has evolved in exciting new ways. deboer is passionate about the recent growth we have seen in participation and performance.
“Much as we have seen advancements in cycling through the use of the wind tunnel, or in running with the creation of carbon-plated shoes, we have found that the performance advancements in swimming have been vastly overlooked. deboer is proud to commit to new technology in the pursuit of shattering records and helping everyday athletes have their best swim ever. Much like T100 and the PTO have committed to the new benchmarks in the world of triathlon racing, we are committed to new benchmarks in the water.”
Alex deBoer, founder of deboer, said “The T100 represents the new pinnacle of performance in the sport of triathlon and will continue to grow in ways we cannot yet fully comprehend. We are excited to support this growth and be involved in what is likely only the start of this journey to a new level of racing and excellence in our sport.”
PTO CEO Sam Renouf added “We are delighted to be partnering with deboer. They have shown over the last few years their absolute obsession to create the best wetsuits for leading athletes, by working with the best scientists and best coaches. We share that obsession to make the new T100 Triathlon World Tour the pinnacle of our sport and help elevate our amazing athletes further into the mainstream.”
