The 2025 Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship event is set to take place in Marbella, Spain, on November 8-9, 2025, bringing together many of the world’s best age-group and professional triathletes.
IRONMAN notes that the event, which also serves as the deciding race of the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series, features a diverse field of more than 6,300 athletes from 114 different countries, regions, and territories.
By the numbers
- Approximately 120 professionals are set to compete alongside the age-group athletes.
- The competition is split across two days, with women racing on Saturday and men on Sunday.
- Women competing: over 2,600 women will take part on Saturday, November 8.
- Men competing: more than 3,600 men will go head-to-head on Sunday, November 9.
- Average age: the average age of registered athletes is 42.
- Youngest female athlete: Nicole Chau, 18, from Hong Kong.
- Youngest male athlete: Albert Fernandez, 18, from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico.
- Oldest female athlete: Dexter Yeats, 80, from Hayden Lake, Idaho, USA.
- Oldest male athlete: Helmut Schicketanz, 83, from Kleinmachnow, Germany.
- Birthday on race day: 20 athletes (4 women, 16 men) have their birthday on their respective race day.
A total of 114 countries, territories and regions will be represented at the event. The split by region is:
- Europe: 39% of athletes.
- North America: 29% of athletes.
- Latin America: 18% of the field.
- Asia: Over 5% of the field.
- Oceania: Over 5% of the field.
- Africa and Middle East: 2% of the field.
The United States of America is the most represented nation, followed by a strong showing from Europe and the rest of the international community.
