BBB Cycling new Signal Radar rear light features advanced detection

Dutch accessories brand BBB Cycling has introduced the Signal Radar, which it describes as its most advanced rear light to date.

The Signal Radar incorporates radar detection, which can identify up to eight approaching objects from as far as 190m away. The light connects to devices via ANT+ or Bluetooth to deliver alerts to the cyclist.

The light combines high-performance lighting with the radar technology. When an object is detected, the light automatically switches to a stronger, disruptive flash pattern to increase visibility.

Simultaneously, the cyclist receives real-time alerts on a bike computer or smartphone. It also features a built-in speaker for audible alerts when riding without paired devices.

BBB Cycling notes that this added awareness can offer protection in busy urban environments as well as on international rides and in more remote areas.

Connectivity is enabled via ANT+ and Bluetooth, allowing connection to modern bike computers and smartphones. The company has developed an app with Cannondale that simplifies connecting and using the Radar with a smartphone. The integrated speaker in the rear light ensures standalone operation with audible alerts.

The light features an 80-lumen daylight flash, a dedicated car warning light, and six operating modes. Battery life is up to 14 hours. The unit weighs 78g.

Tjerk Bakker, Senior Product Manager at BBB Cycling, said “The Signal Radar sets a new standard for rear-light awareness. It’s our most advanced rear light to date: powerful, smart, and built to protect cyclists in every situation.”

The Signal Radar is available now, priced at €139.95 or £119.99.

BBB Cycling was established in 1998. It produces and sells parts, clothing, accessories, and tools for cyclists internationally.
