The IRONMAN Group, the organiser of the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 global triathlon series, has announced a multi-faceted partnership with Experience Oman.
The agreement names Experience Oman as the ‘Official Global Destination’ and Global Premier Partner of the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Global Series through 2030. The brand will also be the naming partner for the international IRONMAN Pro Series starting in 2026.
As part of the partnership, the city of Muscat, Oman, will host the 2029 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon and the region’s first full-distance IRONMAN race. The new IRONMAN triathlon will take place annually from December 2026.

His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said that hosting such international events “reflects the Sultanate’s readiness to accommodate major global competitions and contributes to diversifying tourism offerings while attracting new segments of visitors from around the world.”
The 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series schedule will feature 16 races, including six IRONMAN and eight IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons, as well as the IRONMAN World Championship and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship events.
New races added for 2026 include:
- ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand
- IRONMAN Kalmar, Sweden
- IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship
- IRONMAN 70.3 Boise triathlon
- IRONMAN 70.3 Elsinore triathlon in Denmark
The series, which will run from March to October 2026, will feature a US1.7 million end of year bonus prize pool and US2.5 million in prize money across individual events. The series will culminate with the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
The Experience Oman IRONMAN 70.3 Muscat triathlon, scheduled for February 2026, will be designated as the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship.
