Cycling helmet specialist Lazer has launched VeloVox – a new communication and audio system built for cyclists. The device enables hands-free group chat for up to 30 riders.
Lazer points out that VeloVox delivers clear audio with wind and noise cancellation, so a cyclist’s voice can be heard on the road.
The open-ear design lets riders stay engaged with their environment and is described as road legal, unlike standard in-ear headphones.
The VeloVox system includes left and right audio devices that attach to helmet straps and are compatible with most helmets and eyewear. It has a simple two-button interface, with the left side for group chat and the right for music and call control.
VeloVox also integrates with select Shimano components. Riders can control the device via Shimano Di2 shifters and Shimano STEPS e-bike systems, enabling them to keep their hands on the handlebars.
Lazer General Manager Peter Duynslaeger said “VeloVox is all about enhancing the ride experience – connecting cyclists without distractions, and delivering sound where and when it matters. Whether it’s for team strategy, safety, or sharing the joy of the ride, this is a tool that adapts to how real riders ride.”
Priced at US$185, €160, £160, VeloVox is now available through the Lazer website and at select international retailers.
