New Balance has hosted a community Rebel v5 event series across London, Glasgow, and Manchester, celebrating the launch of the new Rebel v5 and the ‘more your speed’ ethos of the brand’s new everyday speed run shoe.
At the New Balance London & Glasgow stores, artist Titi Finlay hosted a ‘Rebel-inspired art workshop’ for local run communities, before attendees hit the streets for a 5k run – complete with a 1k ‘speed segment’.
In London, New Balance used community connections to round off the run with Dumbo burgers and Top Cuvée wine; while in Glasgow, Frank’s Pizzeria showcased the city’s local food scene.
The final event in Manchester saw a collaboration between New Balance and independent sandwich institution, Bada Bing. The 5k run ended at a Rebel v5 mural in Central Manchester. The entire event was dual New Balance and Bada Bing branded, with bespoke Rebel ‘subs’ and servings of natural wine from Flawd Wine offered throughout the evening.
The series brought together existing running communities supported by New Balance in London and Manchester, including Run The Boroughs and 2 STEP COLLECTIVE, whilst helping to grow new running networks in Glasgow.
