New Québec brand Baumier launches with focus on long-lasting road & gravel wheels

Baumier, a new cycling brand based in Montréal, Québec, has officially launched with a focus on local manufacturing, technical durability and sustainable performance.

The company, founded by entrepreneur Benjamin du Haÿs, aims to challenge conventional approaches to wheel production by… ‘designing components built to last a lifetime.’

Designed, manufactured and hand-assembled in Montréal, Baumier’s initial line includes four high-performance wheelsets across road and gravel categories. Each is covered by a lifetime guarantee and backed by long-term support and replaceable components.

The initial wheel range includes:

RT40 Lifetime (road)
Titanium carbon spokes, titanium cassette body, and a 40mm aero profile. Built for high mileage and consistent durability.

RT40 Out of Category (road)
A lightweight climbing wheel featuring threaded carbon spokes and precision-machined hubs for maximum stiffness and low weight.

GT24 Lifetime (gravel)
Gravel-specific wheels using raw titanium spokes and oversized sidewalls for demanding terrain, with 25mm internal width for versatility and comfort.

GT24 Ultralight (gravel)
The lightest in the range, using braided PiRope textile spokes. Designed for shock absorption and long-distance riding with a distinctive look.

Baumier’s launch is underpinned by a locally focused production model. The company stated that it is not aiming to reinvent the bicycle, but to ‘rethink our relationship with manufacturing, performance and time.’

“Our wheels are made for people who want to ride consciously – who care about the long term, about the planet, and about riding without second thoughts,” said founder Benjamin du Haÿs.

Baumier’s product development has included an evaluation of environmental impact at every stage, with a commitment to sustainable processes, local expertise, and extended product lifecycles.
