Hyperice has launched Normatec Elite Hips, a portable dynamic air compression device engineered for targeted recovery of the hips, IT bands, and lower back.
The device is positioned as a standalone recovery offering, eliminating the need for separate control units and delivering compression therapy in a cordless format. This design aims to provide convenience for individuals seeking to address hip tightness, IT band discomfort, lower back tension, and mobility restrictions.
Jim Huether, Chief Executive Officer of Hyperice, said “The hips and lower back are the foundation for a lot of movement. Normatec Elite Hips represents our commitment to making professional-grade recovery technology accessible to everyone.
“By creating the first standalone hip recovery device with true portability, we’re empowering people to take control of their mobility and movement quality wherever they are.”
The Normatec Elite Hips provides the benefits of dynamic air compression, a science-backed solution used by professional sports leagues. The system’s patented technology replicates the body’s natural muscle pumps to mobilise fluid, improve circulation, reduce swelling and inflammation, and accelerate recovery.
Key features include:
- Portable Recovery: The device is cordless, eliminating the need for a separate control unit, and is TSA-friendly for travel. It provides up to four hours of battery life.
- Compression Levels: Users can select from 7 intensity settings (40–110 mmHg) for post-workout relief or targeted activation before activity.
- Gapless Coverage: Two independent compression zones work together to provide continuous coverage across the IT bands, thighs, hamstrings, hips, and lower back. Adjustable velcro straps ensure a secure fit.
- Bluetooth Connectivity: The device connects to the Hyperice App via Bluetooth, allowing for customised settings and personalised protocols.
Gilad Jacobs, Hyperice Chief Innovation Officer and Normatec Recovery Founder, noted that the device “represents the next evolution of our technology – bringing targeted, professional-level hip recovery to anyone who needs it, in a form factor that fits seamlessly into daily life.”
The Normatec Elite Hips is the latest addition to the Normatec lineage, which includes the Normatec Elite line introduced in June 2024.
The Normatec Elite Hips is available now in the USA at hyperice.com, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and REI for US$599. The device is also FSA/HSA eligible and can therefore be paid for via a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
In Europe and the UK, the technology will be launched as the Normatec Premier Hips on November 10, for €599 and £529.
