Quin, a UK-based specialist in wearable safety technology, has announced the launch of Quin Tag – a small, integrated device designed to improve emergency response for cyclists.
Built into partner-brand helmets and protective gear, Quin Tag enables tap-to-access medical ID and integrated emergency services alerts. The product is Quin’s latest expansion into rider safety, offering a lower-cost entry point for brands and wider accessibility for users.
Ani Surabhi, Founder and CEO of Quin, stated that Quin Tag is designed to remove barriers to emergency response. “It’s a small and simple solution that could make all the difference in the moments that matter most,” Surabhi said.
The device works via NFC (near-field communication). Riders use the Quin Within app to securely upload medical and contact details. These are encrypted and stored on the Quin Tag, which is activated when a first responder or helper taps a smartphone to the Tag.
This then provides instant access to the rider’s critical information and can also activate Quin’s Protect emergency service, which locates and contacts the nearest available emergency support.
“Consumer insights data shows that safety is the top priority for cyclists when choosing a helmet,” said Conrad Lewis, Commercial Director at Quin. “By making the integration of Quin Tag so seamless for partners, we’re making intelligent safety accessible to so many more riders.”
Quin Tag’s flexibility means it can be integrated into a wide range of materials and gear, allowing brand partners to offer new pre-sale and digital marketing touchpoints. The system is currently supported in 32 countries, with all data secured by end-to-end encryption and controlled by the user.
Quin’s existing technology is already used by brands such as ABUS, O’NEAL, Fly Racing, Lumos, Guardio, Monitor and Norton. Over ten additional brands are expected to launch Quin-integrated products in 2025.
