Speedo unveils ‘Less Gym, More Swim’ campaign

Speedo, the world’s leading swim brand, is rallying fitness communities around the globe to refresh their training routines and boost their goals in 2025.

The brand’s new ‘Less Gym, More Swim’ campaign spotlights swimming as the original full body workout, engaging 24 different muscle groups. The company is coming to life via a roll out of digital fitness content, real-life experiences and innovative product releases.

Throughout the campaign, Speedo’s fitness content will include insights and tips designed to inspire both core swimmers and wider fitness communities to add swimming into their routines and start reaping the benefits of ‘the original fully body workout’.

Engaging 24 different muscle groups, Speedo points out that swim-based training not only offers a refreshing way to supplement the typical training environment but also supports development in strength, flexibility, endurance and mental wellbeing, making it an ideal addition for those looking to boost performance in primary sports such as running.

Campaign drills and inspirational content will also support wider disciplines across core strength and body building, further showcasing the wider benefits of integrating swim-based workouts.

Less Gym, More Swim aims to inspire new and existing audiences via a range of insights and benefits.

According to Speedo, a OnePoll survey reported improved stamina in 87% of participants, with 89% feeling fitter and stronger, when adding swimming to their routines.

Further studies found that runners incorporating just a small amount of swimming (just 10% of their running training) improved 3.2km runs by over 13 seconds in eight weeks. Swim workouts also provide an effective calorie burner with just half an hour of steady swimming burning up to 350 calories.

To support fitness goals, Speedo’s drill workout videos will play a central role, curated by professional trainers to cover all aspects of an effective swim-based workout. An initial roll-out of drill content will include: Coordination & Technique, Power & Efficiency, Speedo & Coordination and Strength & Endurance with further workouts to follow.

Speedo VP Brand Marketing, Steph O’Neill said “Swimming remains the ultimate and original full body work out, engaging 24 muscle groups with low impact highly effective training that offers added benefits such as enhanced flexibility and mental well-being.

“With Less Gym, More Swim we’re inviting everyone to enhance their fitness journey and discover how swimming can offer a refreshing way to supplement their typical training environment and enjoy all the benefits of a full body workout. Stay tuned to Speedo channels for updates and more swim fitness content throughout 2025.”

To introduce swim as the home of the full body work out, Speedo kickstarted 2025 by rolling out Power24, a Strava based challenge allowing users to access a 20% product discount by clocking 4 swim workouts inside January. The initiative was supported by an array of swim drills available via Speedo social channels.

From February 2025, the campaign will roll out across Speedo channels and be supported in retail as well as via a range of physical events designed to educate and inspire audiences on the extensive benefits of the water, whether it be pool, lake or ocean.

Less Gym, More Swim’s debut features an initial roll-out of videos highlighting the benefits of the swim work out in supporting running/sprinting, core strength and body building – encouraging the addition of swim workouts to all training regimes.
