AI-powered coaching and training platform Vekta has announced a three-year partnership with Team AMANI, becoming the team’s Official Training and Coaching Platform for both its men’s and women’s squads from 2025 to 2028.
The new collaboration combines Vekta’s AI coaching capabilities with Team AMANI’s long-term mission to advance African cycling. It aims to equip athletes and coaches with the same sophisticated performance ecosystem used by some leading WorldTour teams.
Through the partnership, Team AMANI riders and coaches will gain access to technology, data insights, and a comprehensive analysis suite designed to accelerate progression across both squads. The initiative is intended to create an African-led performance ecosystem grounded in advanced AI and long-term talent development.
Alongside its publicly available platform, Vekta will also create bespoke performance tools specifically for the Team AMANI program and its long-term ambitions.
Paul-Antoine Girard, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vekta, said “Team AMANI is redefining what is possible for African cyclists, and we are incredibly proud to be a part of such an exciting mission.
“At Vekta we are firm believers that elite performance should not be limited by geography, background, or access. By bringing advanced AI and high quality coaching tools to Team AMANI’s riders and staff, we’re helping level the playing field and create sustainable opportunities for athletes across the continent.”
Team AMANI is focused on redefining African representation at the highest levels of cycling, while Vekta is focused on transforming how performance is analysed and developed worldwide.
Owen Searle of Team AMANI said “Everyone knows about East Africa as a running hotbed, but the potential that it holds for cycling is incredible. With our presence in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, the DRC, Ethiopia, and Mauritius, we have an unbelievable pool of untapped young talent.
“Together with Vekta, we are working to develop a talent ID platform with the tools and models necessary to scout and identify the best young men and women from across the region to build the future of the sport here. These are the riders who will one day be racing, and winning, at the highest level. It is a daunting challenge, but together with Vekta we are ready to take it on.”
