ABUS has expanded its triathlon ambassador portfolio by welcoming German athlete Jonas Schomburg to its sponsorship programme. The latest agreement aims to underscore the helmet company’s focus on forming long-term partnerships with elite triathletes.

Schomburg has been equipped with ABUS helmets since the start of the 2025 season. He was among the first athletes to utilise the new TimeShifter TT helmet during the 2025 Challenge Roth, where he recorded the fastest bike split of the race.

The Hanover-based athlete also demonstrated his cycling pace at the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, France, before a mechanical defect impacted his overall time. Shortly after the event in Nice, Schomburg secured a sixth-place finish at the T100 event in Spain.

Marcel Schönfeldt, Sports Marketing Manager at ABUS, said “The partnership with Jonas is an important step for us in further expanding our commitment to triathlon. With his dynamic professionalism and clear focus on long distance triathlon, Jonas is a perfect fit for ABUS.”

Jonas Schomburg said “The TimeShifter showed what it’s capable of in Roth – and it was a great feeling to cross the finish line with the fastest bike split. I’m very happy to have ABUS at my side as I tackle my next sporting goals.”

ABUS is a German manufacturer founded in 1924. The family-owned company employs approximately 4,000 people across 25 international branches in Europe, the USA, Latin America, and Asia. It specialises in security solutions for home, commercial, and mobile use.

Through this new partnership, the brand aims to continue its development of high-performance helmets while collaborating with top athletes to influence performance, safety, and design standards.
