Amazon returns as official community partner of Boston Triathlon Kids Day

Amazon supports free registration for Kids Day events at Boston Triathlon weekend

Mass participation event organisation Ethos has announced the return of Amazon as the Official Community Partner for the 12th annual Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon.

The partnership marks its fifth consecutive year, ensuring free registration for all children taking part in the event on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at DCR’s Carson Beach in South Boston, MA.

Kids Day serves as the opening event for the broader Boston Triathlon weekend. It features the USA Triathlon-sanctioned Kids Splash & Dash for participants aged seven to 15, alongside a Kids Fun Run for children under seven. The program is designed to introduce young athletes across Boston, Massachusetts, and the wider New England region to multisport competition.

Michael O’Neil, President of the Boston Triathlon, said “Amazon’s support has helped Kids Day at the Boston Tri grow into a welcoming celebration where children of all backgrounds and experience levels can experience the confidence, excitement, and sense of accomplishment that come from being active.

“Reaching the fifth year of this partnership is especially meaningful because it reflects Amazon’s long term commitment to Boston’s young people and families. By keeping registration free, we can continue removing barriers, introducing more children to swimming and running, and helping them build confidence along the way.”

The event combines swimming and running along the South Boston waterfront, featuring family activities and post-race celebrations alongside the athletic competitions.

Jerome Smith, Head of Community Affairs Engagement for the New England Region at Amazon, said “For five years, Amazon has been proud to work alongside the Boston Triathlon to make Kids Day accessible to children and families throughout the community.

“Sports can help young people build confidence, develop healthy habits and feel connected to something larger than themselves. We are excited to continue this partnership and help create an experience where every child has the opportunity to participate and have fun.”

Following Kids Day, the main Boston Triathlon takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The adult competition includes both Olympic- and sprint-distance individual races and relay formats, incorporating a swim at Carson Beach, a bike course along William J Day Boulevard, and a run section along the waterfront.

Founded as an event production entity, Ethos has operated the Boston Triathlon for 17 years alongside other regional endurance events. Registration for both Kids Day and the adult race categories is managed through the event’s website.
